The Powerful Horse

Out and about with ShaneBeing out and about with my horse I very quickly come up against my limitations. My horse is born to move over great distances. How can I keep up with him?
One way I can stay with him is to ride.

But, being ridden, no matter how gently, is not natural for a horse;
he is not intended to be ridden. The ridden horse moves under pressure of a burden for which his body is not designed.

A good rider gives his animal aids so that it can move under him as easily and effortlessly as without a rider. Good training teaches the horse to better use his powers; it makes him strong, confident, and self-aware.

Riding art does not mean staying on despite the horse’s resistance.
Riding art does not mean demanding difficult exercises of the horse.

Riding art means that the horse becomes more beautiful, prouder, and more supple
in the work with the human being.
